Default Emissions testing!

Has anyone taken there car in for emissions testing? (I'm in Colorado, but other may have experience elsewhere). Aftermarket exhaust and chipped ECU. The chipped ECU is not the one I got with the car, is there anything in there that wouldn't match the car (VIN?) that could cause a problem?

Shouldn't be a problem.

Let me add. Just make sure when you go to get emissions to have your car warmed up like oil etc.

Default Was your chipped ECU the original, or a spare?

Not too worried about the exhaust for emissions after my g/f passed with a car that sprayed oil out the tailpipe.

Default FYI - Just be careful doing that because some places check readiness codes.....

through OBDII port -

If you reset with a VAG minutes before going in, your readiness codes will not be reset yet.

It takes some time for them to reset - these are different than other codes you find when you VAG - the readiness codes cannot be reset manually - takes like 50-75miles......

Default Mine passed CA smog by a huge margin with 1 mile of warmup and PIGGIES...

so will somebody please explain the purpose of those redundant, expensive and wholly unnecessary pre-cats?
