Are any of you guys familiar with this technology? It seems to me like it would make a huge difference in performance and could be used to prevent the turbo's from over spinning due to a boost leak.

Electric assist turbo

and KKK provides the turbos for all gasolene engine VW/Audis...VW/Audi doesn't want all their eggs in one basket and uses their huge buying power to leverage the suppliers into a tight situation.
In other words, Garrett turbos won't be showing up in Gasolene VW/Audis.

Supercharger/turbo hybrid. It was a turbocharger that could be belt driven for initial/instant boost, like a supercharger, untill exhaust pressure builds up.
I read an article many years back about some company pioneering this "device" for forced induction.
I forgot what it was called.

Is the KKK that lesser of a turbo? If so, Why in hell, did Audi choose to put some cheapo turbo that can't handle the boost? Come on, AoA charges a premium price for the S and seems to be putting something that I, amongst others have become fearful of in regards to realiability, it just isn't fair. The engine was designed to handle all the Mods people are doing, but the Turbos can't, **** on that! This turbo debate that entangles a good part of our day is just another way AoA can rake its owners over the coals. NASA, I hope you don't gamble, because with the luck you have had, you seem to be throwing snake eyes. I think everyone here wishes he/she could help out in some way.
