My car sits in my garage most of the week and when I first start it up, the engine idle seems very rough and fluctuates between 800 and 1200rpm. If I tap the gas a couple times, nothing more than 2500rmp, the idle sets to normal. Also, after sitting for a while there is a small amount of smoke that comes out of the exhaust, nothing major and smells a little sweet not like burnt oil, this only comes out at initial start up after sitting. Does anyone else have similar symptoms and are they something I should worry about? The car runs fine otherwise.

It's probably ok, but the idle shouldn't fluctuate.

It should start at around 1200, and graually taper and hold at 800

Drive it more! It's a bad thing for seals and gaskets to lets cars sit for days on end and not be driven. Especially to sit for a while then be driven hard.

You are right, I drive my car 1-2 times per week, but I don't use WOT very often at all. Last week when I ran at the track the car ran well and no problems, no smoke, nothing. Thanks
