engine overheats when car is running while standing still but cools properly when driving ??????

Mike from VAST installed a better temp sensor on my 2000 when I first met him. The car ALWAYS ...
keeps cool now.
Some people have bought a different temp sensor that runs the secondary fan (IIRC) AFTER the car is turned off.

I don't think the after-run fan/lower temp thermo switch will fix his problem...
This sounds more like a thermostat or possibly coolant temp sensor issue? Though I'm not sure about it, as I haven't had to deal with this issue on my S. STFA for "overheat thermostat" and there's a bunch of hits...sorry I couldn't be of more assistance!
