Default Throttle cut does happen, if left foot braking, which I don't do.

But I believe that left foot braking is also thwarted by ESP (disabled or not)

Default Yes, I do plan on making it to the Glenn this summer. I should have some new shocks, brake vents,

and hopefully have this ESP issue resolved by then.

Thanks for all your help. You definitely earned hero status when you changed by pads =)

Default My f-hose is metal, my maf is hitachified, got new oil lines* with K04s, I'm set ;)

*Not that I noticed anything wrong or different with my old lines, I think the oil metering ports on K03 turbos may have been enlarged for 01, thus starting the oil line rumor, or else my jan 2000 build had the updated lines already.

Default Yeah :/ I almost wish I had ESP just so I could try different softcoding and see what happens -edit

Have you had an opportunity to look at a 2000 and see if the electrical side of ABS controllers are similar at all? Perhaps swapping the control module on the ABS pump and an ECU recode would kill ESP completely and leave ABS active with no DTCs or lights? This would obviously kill ESP for the street, but I'm ok with that, others may not be.

I assume you've tried recoding the engine from 06711 to 06611, though I have a feeling that coding change wouldn't make a difference and would only need to be done after you had ESP disabled on the abs controller itself.

I don't have my ABS softcoding handy, but I did a search and found the coding for the non ESP controller.

Controller: 8E0 614 111 A
Component: ABS/EDS 5.3 QUATTRO D10
Coding: 0273004284
Shop #: BB 24334

of course the coding for the esp controller has nothing in common. well, maybe the last 5 of the non ESP controller are the only 5 on the ESP controller? 04284 vs 04395 Proceed with caution.

Controller: 8D0 907 389 E
Component: ABS/ESP allrad D56
Coding: 04395
Shop #: WSC 06435

:/

Did K04s and oil lines at 53k, have 171k on them now, if they fail, I'm ok with that.

Default I have also experienced this at Mt. Tremblant and Watkins Glen

On occasion it has been so bad that the rear of the car comes around , and I am forced to apply major opposite lock to recover. The biggest concern for me is that it appears to be rather random. In the most severe cases that I have experienced, I am completely off the brakes, and actually into the throttle quite heavily when it happens (much like you two mentioned).

I would also be interested in the outcome of SmokinS4's call to AoA (although I am not holdin my breath for much help).
