Default ETKA help please. My friggin laptop wont let me have a higher res' than 1024x768. ETKA

Requires 1280x1040 minimum. What the heck can I do?

Yes I am computer smart. I can't change the resolution any higher.

I even change it in the video cards properties, but it keeps resetting itself back to 1024x768.

It wont let me install ETKA until the required resolution has been met.

Anyone?

TIA-

Must be a shared memory video card. Buy an aftermarket video card w/ onboard RAM.

You need to hook up an external monitor to your laptop that supports at least 1280x1024.

Default If your video card uses shared memory, go into BIOS and see if you can allocate more RAM for video.

That will allow higher resolutions. You may also want to reduce color use from 32-bit to 16-bit.

As for buying an aftermarket video card, I've never heard of that for a laptop. If there is such an option, I'd like to know about it.

Default I did. From start up I went into my BIOS and up'd the RAM, Actually

I doubled it. No go :-(

I agree, I have never seen video card upgrades for laptops. I'd love it if someone could find me one.

Stupid F'n Dell. Top of the line P4, and this can't operate any etter?

I'm also close to being done with PC's and getting a new G5.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm burning it to a DVD and bring it to work.

Don't get a G5 - get a MacTel based Mac - PowerPC-based Macs will be abandoned...

could be a limitation of the LCD screen.

Default If you have an LCD display which is 1024x768, it won't go in any higher resolution, period. You need

to hook up a higher resolution monitor to the VGA port. I do this all the time, works great.
