Can anyone tell me what the purpose is of the small speaker that is in the middle of the driver's door, but is not on the front passenger door? Is it connected to the Bose Symphony radio, is it for hands-free telephone, etc? Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if you are a Sym without the Bose amps(coded non Bose) the two front door speakers serve for phone/nav iirc. If you are coded Bose(with amps) the extra speaker carries the signal phone sounds.
I misspoke earlier, Nav+ puts the sound through the normal speakers in my Bose setup. Just the phone goes through mine...

but it does route audio thru it should you have a different headunit or phone setup. I have Nav+ and when my phone rings, i can tell it to send navigation instructions thru that speaker while the others are muted. I can also hear music thru it when configuring that speaker in the Nav+ volume setup screen.
So. Yours is not being used at all, but it is wired into the radio, completely.

Thanks man, had no idea what it was for, and the radio doesn't seem to play through it. Thought it might have become disconnected.
