confirmation that the new S4 will also be a NA V-8. I just hope they give it a bit more oomph than 340 HP or somehow cut the weight down.

Default What I heard from Audi officials in Germany...

when I attended the Winter Ice Driving school a couple weeks ago was that the next S4 would in all probability have "more than six cylinders."

Whether it would be a NA V8 or a biturbo (the same engine as the RS6) was not yet determined. Of course, "more than six cylinders" could also mean some version of the W8 -- either NA or turbocharged.

Default If the next S4 is NA....forget it...Audi Lost my Sale.

The S4 has been a turbo engine since its inception...I cant figure out the logic of Audi if they put in a big *** V/W-8 Engine in the car. Granted the engine only putting out 340HP for a Sport V-8 will last for ever. But S4 owners have always purchased the S4 as a luxury performance Sedan...not a "I will be driving this car when I am 80 years old"

Unless Audi offers a tuning partnership w/ ABT and a supercharger for 450HP is available :-)...mmmmmm

Just my 2 cents

Default Agreed. I NEED turbos.....

Especially since most of my driving is done above 7000ft.

But if it's the same as the RS6 engine, place your deposit now! 8-)

Default Actually, they might not mind losing the sale to a lot of people on this forum

since it might be safe to say that we represent a small percentage of total S4 sales but probably the hardest driving percentage (translated: the percentage that would be hardest on the turbos and trannies and therefore be most likely to make expensive warranty claims which eat into their profits). Who knows?

Default Colorado and New Mexico. What part of Colorado are you from.

I live in Taos, NM (60 miles from the Colorado border), but I spend most of my time in Butte and Steamboat where there is REAL snow.

Default Just seems they are leaving the S4 "Roots" if the engine is NA.

Also I spend much of my time above 8000 feet and beyond...this NA engine will be choking for air like a Texas Businessman on a ski trip ;-) Lets just hope they have a ABT version w/ supercharger much like AMG and Mercedes have done
