They crack from heat and other wear/tear/rot after a few years.

Default The M/T boxes get the "updated" Allroad spider(I have one on mine). MarkP posted

pics a few mos back of this part - has heat shielding all over it now. Much nicer I think than the stocker. Had a vac leak on mine that I could have fixed with heater hoses and a pair of clamps but figured the rest of the spider was just as brittle and likely to break so I replaced it with the updated part.

See the PCV return valve(on the Y) in this pic:

Default While you're at it, cut off that long arm and re-route it to the back of the manifold so you can get

rid of the F-hose.
