my hood flew off and destroyed my wind shield. the funny thing is the hood isnt that damaged (carbon fiber) and the wind shield is totally destroyed.

Default only if you have a carbon hood
it is so light the wind can get under and rip it off as you can see from this post. Not needed for your heavy stock hoods :P

Default It is a simple saftey precaution. This is the 2nd CF hood I have seen fly off...
due to lack of hoodpins. In short, fiberglass or CF hoods REQUIRE pins to make sure this doesn't happen.
