Default Finally got around to shopping for a warranty for the S4.

Lasher in Sac, CA quoted me $2804 for the Platinum (covers practically everything mechanical) version of the Audi-backed JM&A extended warranty. I'm at 49,600 right now and am betting on a turbo failure (horrible turbo whine at WOT). Anyone done similar or have any suggestions?

Default Mst extended warranties require that you have 1 month/1k miles remaining on your factory warranty...

or the price will be significantly higher. Just FYI.

Default Nope, the price isn't bad at all. About $1000 more than AWB, but if it is Audi-backed then its ...

probably worth the extra $$$.

Default Dave's right. I decided AWB was about the right risk/reward compromise for me.

An Audi backed warranty was certainly something I considered, but it was a lot more money (like 50% more) and my dealer was being kinda funny about the whole thing so I think I would have been one of the guinea pigs for the program. Didn't want that. Other people had reported positive things about AWB, and I figured their rate was worth paying for insurance against a big repair like turbos etc. Just gotta decide what's right for you. Good luck.

Default If that happens, I'm sorry to inform you that it won't be covered.

They require 1k mi/1 mo before you can use it.
