Default How do You secure it Perminently?

I also have one of those, but at least on my Corvette, the suction cup thing doesn't adequetely secure it, so that it doesn't fall off! Do you have a special trick for making sure it stays where you want it?
Thanx!

Default Heh heh...the thought crossed my mind for a minute...

But I wouldve had to relocate the boost guage to the left vent, and I didn't buy a $40k car to not have A/C!

Default I thought about that, but it looks like the grill is molded as part of the dash...

I would need to be able to pop the vent out and get down in there with a drill or dremel to cut a hole through the ducting into the area below the dash. Even if I could cut the hole, since the connector on the power cord is kinda bulky, it would also have to be fed down the vent and through the hole...kinda tricky.

I may still re-examine this option sometime...if you have any suggestions, I'd like to hear them.

Default It came with a mounting disk...

The unit sits in a removable cradle that allows it to pivot up/down and left/right. The cradle snaps into an oval shaped base that's stuck to the dash with double-sided adhesive.

It came with 2 adhesive pads, a 'temporary' and a permanent. The temporary was a very tacky, soft rubber, but it would fall off the dash under acceleration, so I ended up using the permanent adhesive pad. You can get additional bases for other cars.

Default well i ran my wires for my HUD and i also have the HUD tucked in there...........

well see i had to length my wires for the HUD anyways so i just drilled a small hole and ran it through there very stealth looking the only draw back is that my pass side will not defrost as quick but you have to lose to gain i guess

or get a grommet big enuf to fill the hole that you need to drill to get the plug through!!?? hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........

Default Re: It came with a mounting disk...

I guess I didn't say it correctly.
What I should have said was that the "Perminent Mounting Disk" didn't hold it on perminently for me. So that's all you're using and so far, no probs? Cool!

Default Gotta use a grommet...got any pics?

And exactly where and how did you drill a hole? In the vent itself I'm assuming...
