Odd, I've heard more good things about that kit from the VW guys than anywhere else...
but this time I am not going with the APR kit, but only/mostly for financial reasons. In the end, I think I'll end up with something as powerful as their 3+ kit, but for less $$$. It won't have all of the EMCS bells & whistles, home programmer, etc, but I don't need all of that on this "beater" ;-)
I'll spill more info on the turbo kit once it gets closer, but it's surely not something that's common around here - and maybe not at all in the US. Well, not on a VW anyway ;-)

I have a totally different opinion but...
perhaps by now APR has fixed their ****-ups? I have no idea as I have not followed the VW stage3 issues for almost 3 years now. I don't even remember how to get to EdP's stage3 forums anymore and read what's going on.
But like you have mentioned, there are other options out there now that are more cost effective.
