alum wires are fire prone, that's why that are not used anymore in house wiring.

my A4: CF trunk (hood next), 12 lb battery, al fly, remove spare, lighter wheels, brakes, exhaust
when ~1/4 tank of gas, it's <3200 lbs

Replace front seats with some lightweight racing seats. This will save you more
than a front hood, front fenders, rear trunk combined....
Status has seats that are under 15LBS each. Stockers weigh 68LBS IIRC!

I saw the left over (removed) wiring from PatSoCal's race car... unbelievable amount of lbs
I don't remember the exact weight, but I was shocked at how much weight all that unused copper added up to!!!

True, but don't need to replace what wiring is left with alum. Getting rid of useless wiring is
a good thing for weight reduction.
