Default Fixed a Sportec Hi Gloss using NASAs technique.

My wife caused massive curb rash, so bad that she's not allowed to drive the S4 again (well, for a week anyway). The local wheel repair place wouldn't fix it, said they couldn't match the paint. Edge Racing is unable to get the paint from Sportec, so I had to scramble a little bit. I read somebody used PepBoys chrome bumper paint and it match pretty well, so I tried it.

This is the curbed wheel, it's like that for just over half the wheel.

This is after the fix. The wheel is a little dusty, it'll look even better after I clean it up a bit.

It looks pretty good, I think I could have been a little more meticulous with the Bondo and the sanding. You cannot tell the difference from say 5 feet away, but it's noticeable if your looking up close. My main concern is if it will hold up after washing multiple times.

Default Looks good. I fixed my stock Avus using the NASA ...

technique and it turned out very well. I started over a couple of times until I got the hang of it, however. You'd have to look closely at the wheel now to see that it had been repaired. It's important to have a warm area to work in so the bondo, paint and lacquer will set properly. I repaired my wheel in my kitchen with the wheel sitting over a radiator.

Default oh, didn't realize it was you!

you changed your screename....they did a first rate job in my opinion(they did much more than just bodywork if you can remember). only thing is they left the inside of my car a little dirty...other than that, i'd say they did well.

Default my experience has been that after obsessing over it for the first 2 days...

you never ever notice the repair again.

Mine haven't degraded at all with use and washing...now that's the WURTH paint and it's going to be dependent on the paint but as long as everything was prepped and dried properly, you should have NO problems with it in the long run.

Congrats!
