Foam/KN "flows" better. OEM cleans better and flows enough to support the power in these cars.

Default I'm still up in the air about that one. I drove around for a day with my maf covered in oil....

The car ran great. No hiccups at all and it was soaked as in dripping red oil. It was a bit of a test and I was surprised at the results. This was on the stock box of course.

Default Unless you have upgraded turbos or are flowing significantly more air than stock, stay with OEM

paper filter. No increased performance on a turbo engine that's stock with any aftermarket filter and it will pass more dirt and crap.

Default Foam media filters will allow small sand particles to pass right through.

oiled or not.

Ive got a pitted k03 from my jetta to prove it. And sandy oil flushed from my intercooler. No to mention embedded in the coupler joints at the TB.

Stay away.

Default If your looking for an oem replacement filter, check out AFE (Air Flow Engineering) air filters.

It's an excellent air filter, and it is maufactured to a higher standard than than the K&Ns. It has a better filter element, and a better frame than the K&Ns.

The part no is 30-10044 for a 2000 Audi S4. On an interesting note, this is the same part number, and air filter utilized by a 2001 BMW M5.

More information on the AFE air filters can be found at www.afe-filters.com.
