Default Follow up questions about brake rotors...

What does the term "glazed" rotors mean? What does "pitted" rotors mean? What causes these conditions and how can they be fixed? Thanks in advance.

Default ok here are the answers for you.........

1). Glazed= burnt, super heated(rotor) due to sorry brake pads not doing their jobs or the pads being in contact with the rotor all the time. 2). Pitted= something is between your rotor and pad and is making a indention causing a pit and making the rotor more prone to cracking under braking conditions. Oro your pad is cheap and has a uneven surface against the rotor and is grinding into the rotor I hope that helps you out.

Default One thing that can cause glazed rotors is tire-shine ...

I learned this the hard way on my other car. I sprayed some type of tire shine directly onto the tires and hit the rotors. The substance dried on there and now the rotor squeaks. Unless I get the rotor turned (and it's out of spec to be turned again) it's going to squeak. Sucks.
