Default thats harsh dude! think of all the families who will be affected by the mass lay off...

yes they're product may be a POS, and I know you're just referring to the ford car models being dropped but that statement just doesnt sound right at all.

My $.02

Default it was just a few years ago they were riding high...

with five of the top 10 sellers: f150, explorer, taurus, mustang, and escort. how many of those cars have changed in the last 5 years? there is a new explorer but it is much like the last one. what is a car company doing if it doesn't design new cars?

Default yeah but someone had to invent the first auto assembly line...

and yes they shouldn't have stopped there, they should have continued to lead the industry with continued inovation.

Default Its Fords fault, for not competing adequetly with other auto makers who produced better cars...

now they are paying the price. Yes it sucks for the employees, but I have no love lost for the UAW who is also responsible for the labor problems in all us auto makers.

Default although i'd question the tact of the statement, the truth is there....

in a free market economy, those that don't keep a fresh quality product will be the first ones to restructure especially in such a fiercely competitive market not to mention during recessionary periods. Its just unfortunate that the narrow vision of the upper management always has just critical consequences to the regular plant workers.

Default Yawn, another attempt at reliving the past...like the T-Bird (m)

I agree that this is a good path for ford, but isn't very innovative IMHO.
