Default Forge 007 Spring Choices

Hi guys,

My S has been eating 710Ns at an alarming rate, so I decided, against my better judgement, to try something else. I've ordered and received a couple of Forge 007 "A-Line" DVs from ECS. They come with three spring choices.

Other than "Use 710s!" what's the conventional wisdom for spring choice on these when used with K04 equipped Stage IIIs? I'll probably try the yellow one first, which is somewhere in the middle, but I would appreciate hearing from those of you that have experience.

Thanks!
-Michael.

Default Don't think the 007 come with the different spring options. Also why did you go with the "A-Line"?

I ran just the regular 007 with the spring it came with, which was rather stiff.

I think the DVR is the one that comes with the optional springs and the DVR is a POS IMO.

Default Mine did...

I got the A-Line variant because I like my stock engine covers, and wanted to be certain that they'll fit.

Default I'm just chipped, and they said the green spring was fine...which is the softest I think.

Email them and see what they say. I would think using the yellow would be a good choice. I think the yellow is the next highest after green.

Default Yep you can use diff. springs. The supplied spring rate is ~ the same as the 710A/B valves. The

next step up is ~ 710Ns.

Default

Good to know. Too bad I don't have them any more. Switched back to 710ns when I sold the FMIC.

Default Your answer....

I got this info from Forge directly.
Green spring is up to 12 lbs of boost.
Yellow is 13 to 16
Blue is 17 to 20
Red is 20+
They might also send you a couple spacers to throw in there if you want to fine tune it.

Default I made a tester for checking/setting cracking pressure. Bring over some

broken 710n's and a forge with some different springs.

DV's work on pressure differential. Not boost at the manifold. So a rating of a spring at "20 psi" is innocently ignorant.

Default Hmm, makes sense.

Why would Forge state what they did about the springs and their relationship to boost then? They DID say it was a general guide and not an absolute rule. Does that make sense?
