in more than one way....but yeah, tighter would hold more boost

Default At WOT, full boost behind the piston holds the BPV shut, not the spring. -->
A stiffer spring would slow down BPV opening on throttle closure. Difference of a few 1/1000s of a second. IMHO, the hole spring thing is purely promotional, as are aftermarket BPVs, now that OE valves are upgraded. But they do add Bling.

I liked the yellow springs in my forges better than the green.
