Are those the diaphragm valves?
Diaphragm valves do not like pressure holding them onto the seat and then having to open against that pressure to vent it. I am referring to to the pressure that actually has to be vented of coure, not signal pressure.

What I meant was that is why Forge says to mount them like that, so boost pressure opens them.
Otherwise, boost pressure holding the valve shut is something diaphragm valves don't like. The configuration pictured is what's known as a downstream valve.

in other (OEM) orientation boost will NOT hold the diaphragm shut
it will be hitting the diaphragm from the side. So the only thing affecting the diaphragm will be vacuum in small vacuum lines (and, of course, the spring holding it shut)

Here's the plot, sort of hard to see...
