Default Methodology...

"To obtain the data for displacement(piston travel)
versus vacuum pressure, I applied a vacuum in a slow
fashion in ~0.5 in. Hg steps. The vacuum pressure was
increased until the piston would not travel any
further. I also noted whether or not the valves stuck,
or had an inconsistent pull, or leaked. I took two to
three trials for each valve, and the measurements were
quite repeatable. I obviously could not simulate the
ON-vehicle pressure fluctuations and measure
displacement."

Default Try taking the spring out and then blowing into the tube on the side. You will find that the

diaphragm will flutter on and off the seat. OK, I guess should have said an upstream valve will not be HELD shut by pressure, but it sure will flutter. Try explaining flutter to people who have not worked with valves before.

Default ditto with what MichaelTM said...make sure your spring rate is high enough before you

mount it like that. you could get some leaks.

Default I installed my Baileys like that by accident, ran it for a week....

Noticed no difference in the way they were installed, but just kept them sideways like stock because I'm sure that was the way they were designed to work.

Excuse me, but is everybody aware that, during boost, the "vacuum" chamber has full boost pressure?

Default there's no boost pressure in BPV vacuum lines on S4

in some cars there is, but not in the S4.

There's a valve somewhere between manifold and BPVs that only allows vacuum in these lines

Default a site use to give specs that this is the best way to mount it...

Someone had a audi related site, i think an a4 1.8t site which tested all of them. the forges turned out to be the best out of everything out there besides that crazy australian brand company that makes a loud version(cant remember).
He also tested different directions to place it in. The reverse way which i have setup he got those high flow ratings from. He tested further with higher rating springs(next color up) and the results were even better. all was done in a similar manner as others, with a vacuum gauge test to 1 bar...or something like that..
