Default Please don't put words in my mouth

I never said anything in that regard. I was merely correcting your post with facts. Ask Istook yourself how he likes the two calipers. The S8 calipers are a GOOD caliper and perform quite well. Stasis' S8 caliper kit is also a good kit and performs well. Is it possible that there is more than one good caliper on the market? YES. Why do you assume that just because we prefer to use and sell the Stoptech ST40 based kit that we think the other stuff is crap?

Default Porsche Had To Build TheMonoblockCaliperOnAllProductionCars From1998 onwards!

Caliper stiffness is paramount.Thats why all street and race Porsches use a monoblock caliper. As a matter of fact,I believe our S4s use Monoblock calipers! The 993tt big reds are two connected halves, bolted together.Monoblocks are single piece calipers. So,Stoptech is on the right path, whilst 993tt calipers are yesterdays paper.Thrasher4

Default Why do you want to use a SEVEN year old Porsche Caliper from

From a seven year old 1996 Porsche Twin Turbo? These non-monoblock calipers are inexpensive and dated by any Audi standard.Thrasher4

Default They starting building monoblocks to cut production cost....(more)

At least that's what I heard. I don't think there anything in writing to explain why Porsche switched but talking to a bunch of dealerships & Porsche guro's they all said it was to cut down production cost. The stiffness of the caliper is a big marketing hype much like the matched piston sizes that stoptech markets.

Stoptech is not monoblock, but they claim that the two 6mm bolts they use to hold their bridge design to the caliper make the caliper 3x stiffer. How can two 6mm bolts make a caliper, that already uses four 10mm bolts to hold the two halfs together, three times stiffer?

Default ummmmm....Stoptech's caliper is almost completely based off the 993tt & ...

It is also a two-piece, non-monoblock design.

No not touchy really, I just wanted to make sure I was not misquoted (It has happened before).

BTW, Have you ever driven a car fitted with a set of Stoptechs? Just curious.
