Default the point is to find the weakest link, and fix that for high hp applications.

in this case, its the rods

Did that to a 1.8t a little over a year ago. Not pretty.

Default 2 years ago had a 1.8t running 25 psi on C16. Rod collapsed. Even broke the starter.

At the tear-down the piston tops, ring lands, plugs and valves looked perfect. Just too much power.

Default True, but if you are willing to run 25 psi on C16 you would have to be pretty

dense to think there is no risk.

Default I keep hearing that, but I have a hard time believing it.

Isn't the argument that you can't have a cracked cap forged rod?
