Front bumper isn’t flush
Hi everyone I have had some trouble getting the bumper on my s4 b5 1998 to sit flush with the others. When I have the bumper on the car the sides go outwards and not flush like the rear bumper.
does anyone have som tips or the same problem?

Directly behind the part of the bumper that is not sitting correctly is a triangle shaped plastic mount screwed to the fender. This plastic mount is damaged and not holding the bumper properly. Very common with age. The trick is to be kind to the triangle mount when removing the bumper cover as some folks get too aggressive and just yank on it which often causes damage to the brackets.

Can try pushing the bumper wings flush but if they don’t stay where they are supposed to then remove the front bumper and inspect the brackets bolted to the fenders. Sometimes the plastic body nuts pull out of the fender causing the bracket and bumper to not align correctly. The molded bracket C-Clips that catch the bumper might be damaged and brackets might need replacement. Sometimes the brackets and mounting hardware are OK but a previous heavy handed bumper removal process or an accident has bent the metal portion of the fender outwards where the brackets bolt on requiring the fender wings to be re-bent inwards, back into the correct position to make the bumper align properly.
Double check using your VIN to confirm the bracket part numbers or get the part numbers from your existing brackets if you need to replace them. You may want new plastic body nuts for the fenders as sometimes they strip or break.
The brackets look like this:
