Default Front Diff Fill Plug

Ok so this is probably a dumb question and yes Ive STFA and i havent found it. All ive found is rear diffs and transmissions. Im doing all my fluids this week and I get to the front diff and see the drain plug but where is the fill plug? The only one I saw that may be it is a little bolt on the passenger side of the diff that overhangs in its own little oval shaped lip. I didnt want to fight with it to get it off if it wasnt the right one though so any answers or pictures would be appreciated. Sorry for the dumb question, just trying to do some stuff myself and learn the car. Thanks

Thanks, but isnt that just for the transmission? I was under the impression that the front diff and transmission are 2 totally different parts. The front diff is behind the transmission, kinda near the cats? I saw a drain plug there but didnt know about a fill plug.

nope, connected. They have their own drain plugs, but you can (and should) use the same fill plug on the tranny's driverside face, right by the axle.

Ok then sounds good. Thanks guys. Im gonna try to finish that up within the next week so we'll see how it goes. I bought one of those cheap pumps from Advance Auto to make it a lil easier.

Let me know how it goes. I need to do mine too and have yet to delve into it on the B5 S4. Fill me in with any tips or complications pleaseeeeee!
