I have fuel leaking form the filterr assembly ('00), it is hard to tell exactly where because of the rust but it appears to be somewhere on the bottom banjo fitting. Is this something typical that can be fixed with a new filter and crush washers, or do the banjo bolts or lines themselves fail? I want to have some idea what to expect before I tear into this because the car is my daily driver. Thanks.

The fuel filter under the rear passenger door in front of the fuel tank. I found plenty in the archives on how to change it and what a PITA it is, but not much on leaks and sources. If there is a known problem, I just want to make sure I get all the parts before I tear into it. Thanks.

ah so. Yeh I have heard it is a pain but have not personally had to mess with it. I thought they were compression fittings on the fuel lines, not banjo bolts?
Hopefully someone else will chime in here in a minute.
