Default really bad crossing, proper protocol would be heavy braking, scrub as much speed as possible, then

hit the gas.

She got flustered, and ended up doing heavy braking ACROSS the tracks

I didn't yell. >:/

Somehow the bumper didn't hit.

Default I was going to mention last night that buying some of the "diesel" fasteners would be a good idea.

I still haven't done it myself.

8D0805121 = 6x18mm silver.
8D0805121B = 6x20mm black.

I'd bet the extra 2mm would help a lot

Also found slightly different descriptions for the pans.

8D0 863 821 AC
sound deadener and engine/gearbox assy skid plate

8D0 863 821 AB
sound deadener for models with drive system protective plates BR:S4

Default ah, it's not in that one.

4 and 4A are the same for the non suffixed part#, so the B suffix should work all around.

Default It is supposed to help with cooling (air flow) and it prevents some crap

from getting into the engine bay.

It is certainly not designed for real oil pan protection (it is plastic, after all.)
