Sorry, I just copied them from this link, one which I've always thought was correct. Maybe I miscopied:

Audi tranny info...

or at least directly conflicts with the Model Guide for all 3 years. I'll shoot them an email about it.

Note the RS4 bit - I think that confirms the info on that page was incorrect...
Charlie,
On this page: http://www.elektro.com/~audi/01E/
The US S4tt is listed with the following gear ratios:
6 Spd A6tt - S4tt
3.50 1.89 1.32 1.03 0.81 0.68 DSY EDU
However the Audiworld Model Guide lists the following (they list the same info for all 3 years (2000-2002))...
Gear: Manual (Automatic)
1st: 3.500:1 (3.665:1)
2nd: 1.889:1 (1.999:1)
3rd: 1.231:1 (1.407:1)
4th: 0.967:1 (1.000:1)
5th: 0.806:1 (0.742:1)
6th: 0.684:1 (----)
Reverse: 3.455:1 (4.096:1)
Final Drive 4.111:1 (3.511:1)
Notice the difference in 3rd and 4th gears.
Personally, I can not state which is correct, but wanted to point this out to you. Actually, as I think about it, I seem to recall that the RS4 had a different 3rd and 4th gear ratios. On your page, you have them listed as the same. Therefore, it would seem that the Audiworld info is correct for the S4tt, which would then also agree that 3rd and 4th are indeed different on the RS4.
Here's a post of mine on how this subject came up today:

Your a prince, and you're knowledge of transmissions is commendable.
Happy Holidays, and continued success with the ongoing Avant WIP. Always liked that thar banana o' yours. Sadly, after 4 years, mine is finally going to a new home, though it will be to a buddy of mine who has worked on the car with me over the years, so it'll stay in the family, so to speak.
Be good.

THanks for the compliments on the Bananawagon
Sorry to hear yours is moving on, but as you said, nice to know that someone familiar with it will be taking care of it.
Happy Holidays!

I'll be able to see her from time to time.
Just got too many Audi's for her to stay around(plus the silly seats hurt my back, and I have trouble fitting in her with a helmet).
