Generally speaking, what mods differentiate between a Stage I, Stage II and Stage II+?

Generally speaking, what mods differentiate between a Stage I, Stage II and Stage II+?

Stagte I=Chip, Stage II=Cat-Back Exhaust, Stage II+=Downpipes

Default I always wondered this too, but I think (m)

Stage I - Chip (maybe some other minor stuff like intake too)

Stage II - Stage I + Exhaust

Stage II+ - Stage II + Downpipes

Stage III - Stage II+ + K04s (and injectors?)

My shot at it.

Default slight clarification, Stage II = Stage I + cat back, Stage II+ = Stage II + downpipes

just because I have a borla and no chip doesnt mean I am stage II.

Default for NN's benefit this 'stage' notation is not traditionally accepted, but it is here (m)

the traditional stages are as follows:

stage 1 = chip
stage 2 = stage 1 + exhaust
stage 3 = stage 2 + downpipes
stage 4 = stage 3 + turbos

i honestly don't know how the stage 2+ crap ever got started. perhaps from APR's stages? if you couldn't guess, i'm not a fan of it. ;-) guess i was away from the forum for a bit too long at some point.

stage 1 = ~65hp. stage 2 = ~7hp. stage 3 = ~20hp (?). power increases are not cumulative.

not cumulative, huh? So your "stage 1" has the most power I guess. And you mean "2+", not "3"

Should be cumulative, right? Meaning (roughly) stage 1 = 315hp, stage 2 = 322, stage 2+ = 342....
