glad my car is not throwing codes and light anymore...BUT!!!!

see, there's always a BUT...lol
as i've posted before, EPC light and DTC (code 17579 throttle actuator pot#2: signal implausible). That was with both stock and x-chip.
Everytime I redid the throttle body adaption, EPC light goes away for another good 20-40 mintues. SO did clearing the codes. They all came back to haunt me.
Brought into service after I cleared the codes and redid the TBA, they could not reproduce the problem but simply reset my ECU. ($81 gone)
They came back to haunt me in the next few days after I left the service.
brought into service AGAIN, only this time, I left the DTC and EPC light on. THey found DTC but EPC light was not on (after cooling down the car, EPC light goes away automatically, it's been the case), they still could not reproduce the EPC light problem. Simply reset the ECU, and told me they can't replace the Throttle Body unit because problem occurs sporadically. Let me go w/out charging me AGAIN.
I was very pissed off for them not fixing the problem.
But, GUESS WHAT?
Ever since I came back from the dealership, it's been over a day. I've driven more than enough, just waiting for the DTC and EPC light to come back and haunt me again. But...There goes your BUT...NOTHING.
I've been monitoring my ECU frequently with VAG hooked up. NOTHING!!!! NONE!!!!
So, somehow, I suspect the service people actually did something (fixed something) and not telling me.
Reason: So they don't have to reimburse me the $81.00- I wasted on them.
Could that be true? I hate to question people, but simply can't find a better explanation until EPC light comes back on AGAIN!! (or at least same DTC comes back)
what's your take on this case?
