Default yea, that was one of the dumbest things I've ever done:(

I got into such a rush while installing stage3 that I paid around $200/each for the two front sensors from the dealer. I blame it on temporary stage3 install insanity!

Quite a few cars besides VW use the standard 4 wire bosch sensors. Be sure to stagger the wire splices so they fit under the heat protection hose. I like solder ferrules. It's a short piece of heat shrink with a ring of solder in the middle. You stick the stripped wire ends in each end and heat with a heat gun. The solder melts to join the wires and the heat shrink shrinks to form a water-proof joint.
