Default Is this a good price?

2001 S4, 20000 km, Premium and Bose asking $55900 Cdn or about 35000 US. This seems really high to me, am I wrong? If so, what do you feel it should be?

Thanks in advance,

K. Seiler

Default You probably could get it for less. but it is a fair price on the high side. Unless its from a

dealer, in which case it is way high. You can wittle dealers closer to their tradein value.

It is at a dealer. What do you figure the approximate trade in was?

Default In the US, most dealers are giving 27-31k for an S4 with 20k miles. Most are closer to 27k. I

can't say on Canada. But the conversion should be the about the same.

You have to figure the dealer is going to rarely pay more than 10% back of new invoice for any car that has been titled.

Default With 12,500 *miles* (he stated 20,000 *km*, gang), it really depends upon the condition of the car

I went to Edmunds.com and did an appraisal for this vehicle, in clean condition, and got trade in = $29,700, private party retail of $31,296, and dealer retail of $34,060.

This was in clean; if it were in excellent condition (i.e., pretty much showroom new condition), the values are $30,290, $31,882, and $34,702 respectively. Also check out NADA's website; links for both are below
