Im glad to hear that some of you were able to get the new VM to fit, however, I don't have the patience or the inclination to bother. Fitment was just a joke, and made my whole car feel like a rattling, farting POS.
Speedsport swapped out the VM3 for the Milltek Super-Dual, and I picked it up tonight. Damn the Miltek is nice. The tips just look plain awesome, and the tone is actually deeper then the VM. Decibel level is clearly lower now, but certainly in no way quiet. Thats OK as I was attracting a tad too much attention with the VM, and it was not wife approved. You get more of the burble when letting off the gas and between shifts, and there is absolutely no resonance and vibration. 95% of the sound comes from the rear-end, not from under your seat like with the VM3. This exhaust sounds like it was meant for the car.
I picked it up and the tips were clearly pushed towards one side of the rear-bumper cover. The tech assured me it would straignten out. 50 miles later, it sits perfectly in the center of the opening.
Hope you all can get the VM's to fit without spending as much for install as you did for the exhaust - good luck, if not, the Milltek is a good solution
