Default Got car back today w/ RS4 clutch installed and I'm so sad at the turnout. NOW, suddenly,

I have issues w/ 1st and 2nd - putting it in either gear is sloppy/messy. This condition was not present before the clutch was replaced. It went into both gears easily.

From searching the archives, my guess would be 1st-2nd slider problem? But, why would this appear after having the clutch replaced?

The shop said any problem with the clutch would be seen in all gears. Okay, but why the coincidence with this?

Could realigning the short shifter help?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did they disconnect the shortshifter for the clutch install? Definitely try adjusting that first.

Default same thing happened to me... I took my car in for the clutch and got it back with grinding gears

What i am guessing happened is since the clutch was going bad the syncros had to help get it in. Or your burned your clutch from hard driving what is the reason why transmissions go bad.

Default I had the same problem on my RS4 dlutch the SAC machenism on your car is missaligned READ HERE

So yea i installed my RS4 clutch from the begining i had a problem with grinding reverse, then 340 Miles later my clutch started slipping completely, This is the fault of the SAC mechanism it is missaligned. The RS4 pressure plate is garbage, im using a Clutch Masters Stage 3 now so far 1100 miles on it and not a single problem it grips tight and shifts smooth. So look into getting another clutch soon it wont hold up much longer or you wont be able to get gears. Also what flywheel are you using?
