Got my Valeo wipers from TireRack (Buy one get one free sale)... more like buy one, get one broken
Buy one get one free sale... I normally wouldn't mail order for something as simple as windshield wipers but they did look nice and the ones I had just put on a couple of weeks ago are crap.
Well, I got my wipers very quickly and put them on... Went for a quick ops check in the garage, squirted the washers and let the wipers swing. Swish, swish, CRACK, SCRAPE, SCRAPE, SCRAPE...
The driver's side wiper broke and fell completely apart after literally one sweep of the windshield, so just the wiper arm was scraping across the glass... Thank god I didn't just assume they were good because the first time I tried to use the wipers I would have lost them on the road otherwise.
The Valeo wipers have a base that mounts to the car's wiper arm, and then a curved wiper blade. In the manufacturing process there are four metal tangs that are bent around the wiper blade to hold it in place. In my case the blade was misaligned and the manufacturing equipment 'missed'. Two of the tangs were bent around it and held it together while two were crushed underneath the blade instead of on top of it. I haven't had the time to try and get a new wiper blade from TireRack but just wanted to let you guys know that my Valeo experience has been very poor so far :P

yeah i'm not to impressed by them either
My driver side one cleans fine on the upswing. on the downswing though it just kind of skips across the glass making more mess then if i hadn't used them at all. I tried swapping the blades around but i get the same effect. so i think i will attempt to claybar the glass and see if that helps any. I'm thinking there just isn't enough weight to keep the blade on the glass.
