Default Got a reckless driving ticket in Prince William Co. VA.?

I was clocked at 82 in a 60mph zone. My question is should I get a laywer or not? This is my first ticket in 10 years.

Also anyone know where you are supposed to call if you do need a laywer? In Prince William Co.

Thanks!

Default ouch...

reckless for 22 over? What were the conditions? That seems a bit stiff...anyways, I would suggest a lawyer, you definitely don't want this going onto your record. And I'm not sure how effective you'll be getting it lowered yourself...but this is just my $.02 Good luck!!!

Default Were you swerving in and out of traffic? I hear they are VERY

strict about that out there. Reckless driving though for 82mph??? Usually it has to be over 20mph or something like that for reckless(at least here in Cali.). Fight it, what's the WORST that can happen. Can't you take driving school since you've never had a ticket? I used to live in Woodbridge, VA ions ago. Cops are ****** out there.

Default You don't want a reckless charge on your record. Get a lawyer who specifically deals...

with this, and get the charge reduced to speeding. You will be paying a bigger fine, but your car insurance will not be an issue after.

20mph over or >=80mph is automatically reckless in VA.

Default There are some crazy laws out there. In NC, conviction of 15 over in a 55 or more is a 30 day

license suspension. In AZ, 85 is reckless and they have 75mph speed limits with 80 coming (if passed). That would mean, the way the law is written, that a 5 over conviction would be reckless or 10 over the way it is now

In wisconsin, 20+ speeding carries the same penalty as DUI and 25+ is a 15day suspension.
