this is so ridiculous, but I took an extra long lunch, went home and got the rally car.
I immediately put the stage 4 turbo on my rs4 and took it from 540 something to over 600 hp. I went back to race it and could hardly control the thing.

Wrong... In GT4 you can NEVER have too much power.
It's just a matter of controlling it. You gotta relearn how to control the car.
Don't forget to lighten it as well, better suspension, and for short races, sticker tiers.
