Grrr....DAMN Blowtenzas. Do other tires do the bubble thing or is it just these crappy tires?

Just hit a pothole on the 10W freeway here in LA (thanks Caltrans you lazy bastards) and got the infamous bubble on my stock tire.
I was thinking about replacing the tires with Bridgestone S-03s and was hoping neither they nor the Michelen Pilot Sports exhibit similar issues.
Any info is appreciated.

It's the 45 aspect ratio; there's no sidewall to absorb any road hazard impact.
Bubbles have been reported on:
Bridgestone Potenza 040
Pirelli P6000
Michelin Sport
Pirelli P7000 SuperSport
