Guys, could a bad O2 on the driver bank be the cause of misfires in cyl 4-6?...

Default Guys, could a bad O2 on the driver bank be the cause of misfires in cyl 4-6?...

I've only got misfires in Cyl 4 and 5...hardly any in 6 and absolutely none in 1-3. I just got a dead O2 code last week. Could this be the cause? In any case, I'm changing the O2 soon but I was just curious if improper O2 readings from one exhaust route could cause bad firing in only that bank. TIA.

IMO it's possible, that bank could be running bloody rich, could have fouled a plug or 2 ..

Default Any chance that an O2 could be "failing" but show no signs...

i.e. no codes being thrown? I ask because I've had misfiring issues in Cyl4-5 for a while but the O2 codes only came up last week.

Default Absolutely. I've seen many 02 sensors failing on cars (can tell by WOT 02 voltages) w/o codes.

Eventually, the codes show up. BTW, I agree with Jonas that it's possible.

Default Correctomundo. 1 laptop is getting a new hard drive and the other constantly overheats...

When I get the other one back, I'll send the overheater out to get fixed.

I'm disappointed in you, keep hearing bad things. Call me one of these days so I can reprimand you.

Default would those O2 voltages......

be mostly lean? I replaced one bank (drivers) but not my pass fronts and I get like .82ish in the first set...the rest are fine though (columns 2, 3, 4 are all around .86ish to.89) =(

Default A picture is worth a thousand words.....

When you see 1 sensor giving normal readings at WOT and the other tapering off like this, good indicator of a failing sensor AFAIK....

When you see both sensors tapering off, different story. Only time I've seen this is failing fuel pump (my car, S4Patrick's car, BuffaloNogaro's car)....

Default That goes without saying, which is why I hate hearing bad things being said.

It has nothing to do with me being too cool to make mine public. With it has to do with...my current e-mail address is already associated with a prior (banned) account and thus I cannot make my current account link to it. This account is setup for Doc@PEBtuning.com, which no longer exists.

Oh, I don't have access to my e-mail right now. I'll go grab my phone and find your #, then call you from my house in a few.
