Guys that O ring in the stock air box, if its missing, and you have ko4 car- would that cause the
car to sort of throttle cut under full throttle?
I can rev up fine if im not wot
but the moment i go WOT past 3000 rpm it gets all, like the car is cutting out throttle and shuddering..
When I log for codes though, it s not pulling up any misfires etc. only one code that says intake voltage too low sometimes..
but this missing O ring, would it cause this problem?
I also noticed after my duct tape and condom stopgap creation today, that it did improve the response, 1st gear now almost works normally under wot but higher gears again cause the shuddering and retarding past 3000 rpm..
Does this make sense? Im hoping its just the O ring, which is on its way to me.
Or could any of the WOT problem be attributed to my ****ty soldering skills on the hitachi conversion? It was very bulbous, liek some solders were the size of baby leeches
but I think theyre all connected good...
thanks for anyone who read all this

2nd. First time out with K04's, my car throttle cut...
hard enough to cause driveline shock. Scared the **** out of me. CEL light went up though. Did the usual: checked the DV's and discovered that one wasn't holding suction and the other was on the way. Replaced them and cleared codes and it's purring like a kitten. I also have a spare O ring, if you need it. I'm in CA though. It probably fits in an envelope so I'll send it free if you need one. Let me know.

no.
throttle cut happens when the boost ramps up too fast and the ecu sees a deviation between requested and actual.
Logs will certainly help diagnose, but there are a number of reasons why you'd get throttle cut.
Missing O-ring would cause a leak, but I'd be surprised if it would cause overboost like that.
