Default H ECU as replacement for A ECU... possible?
I've heard that the difference between very early 2001 (H) and 2000 (A) will work if putting an H box in an A car. Is this correct? I had heard that the reverse will not work (A chip in H car).

Doubt it, ESP will probably cause problems.

Default They have different MAFs and (if I remember correctly) different shaped ECU connectors. (More)
I HAVE heard of people using an M-box in an H-box and an H-box in an M-box, but never what you describe.

why would you want to?
I'd want a Hitachi MAF, on my 551A
well, one that has the same throttle response as a Bosch MAF'd car

I have an A chip (stock) car... dude with trade has H chip (Abt) and wants to pick up some other stuff I have to offer.

get a 551A chip
551H and 551M both use a Hitachi MAF

the 551A and RS4 use Bosch
