Default H&R/Bilstein/CO kit - what would cause the spring on the strut be 'tweaked' to one side?..

I've posted a few days ago about having a clunk in my rear suspension and still haven't solved it.

Here is the question: after reassembling the strut, we noticed the spring wasn't completely straight..it just didn't align when compared with shock. I guess it wasn't parellel to the shock. However, when installed on the car, it straightened itself out. Is this at all normal? Could it be a bad spring?

Like in the pic..the spring was tweaked over(realizing this is the stock hardware, but you get the idea):

Default depends how the tips of the springs are oriented

they cause the spring to stay a bit crooked, in other words the spring would be "longer" where that pig tail ends, sitting on a flat surface.

could be a bad seating on the bushing or a defective spring. how long have you had this?

Default had it since last september - it's been clunking for 3 months...

when you say the "seating on the bushing" - you must be referring to the top bushing(that bolts top of shock to the housing)? I've gone through 2 tear downs and 2 alignments - no one can figure out the issue.
