Default H&R springs?!

I'm looking for little feedback on H&R sport springs. I went to a shop listed as an AWE dealer and he said he wouldn't sell H&R because of "poor quality". Is this true? I can't find any negative postings here on AW. I really have my heart set on the grooved body Bilsteins. What are my best options for springs, besides coilovers?

Default I have never had any problems with H&R...

I bought them for my S4 because of the good experience I had with my VR6 GTI. They may be a bit low for some peoples tastes. Check my picture post for an example of the height.

clarkes4, how much clearance do you have on the front bumper and the gap between tire & fender?

Default haven't heard of problems with the s4, but for the tt and m3 ...

there are tons of problem reports, and h&r has been very unresponsive in dealing with those problems. in general, skip the springs and get coilovers.

Default Good quality..

H&R in general makes very good quality products.
For the S4 application they are a bit on the lower side.
Vogtland Club springs aren't quite as low, and are a great alternative.

Default Re: H&R springs are fine. what you have to watch out for is the shocks you use.

Some early versions of the Bilsteins sold for the S4 do not have enough damping to control the springs, thus the floaty/bouncy feel. YMMV.
