I am thinking about lowering my car. I was wondering if anyone has this type of setup. I know aftermarket shocks would be ideal with h&r springs, but i am short on money right now and don't want to dish out that kind of cash. If I stick w/ stock shocks and get h&r springs, will I regret it b/c of the unbalanced and bumpy ride b/c or will it just be not quite as good as w/ the right shocks. Keep in mind the car is not going to the track and I mainly want them for the looks and firmer ride.

You will regret it because it's a ton of work to get the shocks out just to reinstall the stock set again.
Also, putting more aggressive springs on there without the tougher shocks to back them up is a bad idea. You are going to bottom out a lot and risk damaging your shock/strut assembly.

Thats a set-up i've been running for 2 years now. (H&R springs +stock shocks). NO PROBLEMS. Even with 18's. No bottoming out, no harsh ride.. really quite nice. But... if you want to do them both... definitely at the same time... taking the assembly apart was a pain in the ***... best to do it all at once.
I had to do it, cause both rear stock springs had broken.
