Default H&R vs Neuspeed

I'm looking at the H&R and the Neuspeed sport springs. Does anyone have any thoughts about which is superior etc.? Any help is welcome!

Default Re: H&R vs Neuspeed

Generally, I've heard that H&R springs are more aggressive. More so than it's competitors...

don't quote me tho.

Default Drop is about the same, rates are different.

H&R rates are 400F/375R
Neuspeeds are 425R/350R
drops are about 1.5F/1.25R

Just by the numbers H&R might be more neutral handling without a rear bar than the Neupseed.
They are both so close in rates I would doubt you could tell any difference other than handling right at the limit.

Another option if you don't want to go too low is the Vortrag/Hypercoil S4F/A4R setup with rates of 450F/396R. Or S4 F&R @ 450/500# with a firmer ride. Drops are right at 1". Just right IMO.

Whatever you do get proper sport shocks to insure your happiness with the setup over the long run.

Good luck with your decision.

Default I have tried both on the same car (not a S4)....(m)

H&R's ride is way rougher than Neuspeed's. That is also the reason why the owner of that car decided to switch from H&R to Neuspeed. I cannot comment on the ride height since the car was not a S4 (It was a VW VR6).

Default Just an FYI on the Neuspeed springs.....

...seems like a few guys who have them have isues with creaking/squeaking/"sproinging" noises from the rear springs. Sean (of Sean's A4 fame) even switched from the Neuspeed to the H&R springs to eliminate this noise. I have no idea if Neuspeed has ever corrected this issue, nor do I know if this issue affects the S4 springs.
