Default getting ice buildup on the inside of intake tract parts, due to the location of the MAF however . .

this is probably not a problem on the S4.

Default That's what Verruckt is talking about. Its pretty hot in there, but that area

of aluminum is in contact with a large mass of air for fairly small amounts of time. You might notice it in off idle sogginess, but it won't do much in terms of wot power. If you were worried though you could use some insulation on it.

i would probably help by acting as a heat sink for the maf sensor.

yah it looks great to me - i wasnt looking forward to getting rid of my airbox for an open element

Doesn't that require fuel evaporation cooling in a carburator?
