Default has anyone blown a fuse here? my cig lighter wont charge my cell phone....

after i installed my V1, i cannot get my cig lighter to charge my cell phone with the car charger. futhermore, when i press into the lighter, it wont pop back out, meaning it for sure is not getting any power.

any ideas what to do? i havent dealt with any fuse issues with this car. TIA

Default Maybe you should just tap the power from your VDO gauge for the V1

and then change out the fuse for the ligher

Replace fuse with bigger one. If its a 20 put in a 25 or 30

Default Fuse # 33 is the one for your cigarette lighter. Use long nose pliers to pull it out

or use the special audi fuse puller on the fuse pannel.

Which number did you use for the VDO and V1? I have my VDO and V1 tapped onto the x75 post under the kickpanel - no problems so far.

Default Pull #33 out and check if it's blown - if so, there will be a void in the middle along with some

black debris. Change it with the same rating: 15Amps.

I wouldn't recommend replacing it with a higher fuse. It may melt something or cause a fire down the road.

Make sure that there is no contact between the jerry rig you put into slot 27 and the frame of the car (ground) as that will certainly blow fuses.

Default so pull out that "colored clip" and see if its messed up inside?

then replace it with something similar with 15 amps.

Default NOT a great idea. The fuse is supposed to be the weak link. Upping the amp rating

can make some part of the wiring the weak link.

There is not a chance in hell his cell phone is drawing 1 AMP, let alone 20 or more.
