Default Has anyone ever dealt with a tear on the passenger wastegate hose?

I have residue on the hose where it connects to the wastegate and the peice that feeds the turbo, But i only see about 3 inches of the hose then it bends up. Couldnt find a tear from where i was looking. How long is the wastegate hose? Seems like it's pretty short then goes to metal. Seems impossible to swap without alot of work.

Default It's a total pita... but do-able with engine in....

the wastegate hose is crimped onto a metal tube, so no luck on just replacing the hose. You have to replace the whole $100-$200 part each side.

Carson at riverside seemed to have the best price on this part the last time I checked.

please explain why you have to replace the entire wastegate line and not just the hose

Default Ideally you would replace the given the way the part is made...

the aluminum hard line has the hose sort of swedged/crimped onto it so you can't just pop the old hose off and add a new piece as designed.

I had a split hose on mine and after finding out how much the part was I cut the aluminum hard line off above the crimped portion and added a piece of good quality silicone hose I got from a tuner.I used a couple of clamps to hold it on, pressure checked it, and put heat shield over it and it works fine.

Just make sure the ID of the hose is the correct size but it should be if it is going over WG nipple anyway.

Sorry! I wasn't very clear. I had the engine out doing a turbo swap.
