i wonder if your maf is still reading the same numbers from the time you put the filter in....
i never oiled mine, it went from the packaging straight into the airbox. i just noticed that over small period of time, my maf was reading lower than before.

If properly oiled (very lightly, evenly, and allowed to dry properly) it will NOT mess up your MAF.
I ran one for nearly 2 years, and had no issues with my MAF.
Having said that, Oil is bad for the MAF.

answer the simple question of what my maf size was going to be. way to rub it in my face AGAIN! :P
